Royal Óbidos

The golf course at the Royal Óbidos Spa & Golf Resort, which opened to the public in early 2012, has the personal mark of the world golf legend, Severiano Ballesteros. Applying his art to the design of golf courses, the celebrated player has created a truly unique course here.

Designed to subtly integrate with the natural surroundings, taking advantage of the undulating terrain, this 6,400-meter course attracts golfers of all levels and of several nationalities. In Ballesteros' own words: “My philosophy is to not only have a competition field that is a challenge for professional players, but that can also be enjoyed by any player.”

A well-equipped clubhouse, with restaurant, bar, pro-shop and golf academy, overlooks the holes of the golf course.

The golf course is part of the Royal Óbidos Spa & Golf Resort, distinguished with the 2012 Construir Award as the best national tourist resort, which also includes a boutique hotel and spa, as well as apartments and villas, all with views from sea and countryside, in 136 hectares that ensure a low housing density.

The 40 rooms of the exclusive 5 star boutique hotel, as well as the spa, have the interior architecture and decor designed by yoo design studio, by Philippe Starck and John Hitchcox, two essential names in international design.
