ÓBIDOS MEDIEVAL MARKET

The Medieval Market of Óbidos, which has been held since 2002 as an event of historical animation, is a festivity that spreads through the town of Óbidos, filling it with colour, music, smells and period costumes, transporting this village back into the Middle Ages.

This celebration, which brings to this town artisans and merchants, jesters, minstrels, mule-drivers, witches and alchemists, peasants, squires, knights and men-at-arms, noblemen, nobles and royalty, is undoubtedly a moment of great excitement that allows to recreate the atmosphere of celebration and joy in days gone by, with a unique experience.

In summer, for a few days, the town of Óbidos dresses up in medieval with medieval taverns, entertainment shows, theatre, music, historical recreation, tournaments and medieval costumes, arts and crafts, to the delight of all who visit it at this time.
